The Old Clam House impresses with its "absolutely wonderful" service and "amazing" food, including standout dishes like cioppino and clam chowder. Its "nostalgic charm" and historic ambiance create a welcoming atmosphere. Despite occasional service lapses, it's a San Francisco classic known for "excellent" seafood and a warm dining experience.

I was dissapointed the Old Clam House no longer serve the Steamed Clam as their featured main course. It was their signature dish and wine/ garlic/ olive oil treatment of large clams were excellent. For the restaurant's traditional identity, I strongly suggest bringing that dish to menu. There are so many ways to create upper scale variation from steamed clam - good examples are traditional Portuguese variety - adding - bacon, portuguese sausage or pork tenderloin and kale. Creating delicious dishes from humble ingredients always created wealth for the owners.

Very good main dishes, but lacking on dessert. Very specific old-timey ambiance that i loved. Rather pricey.

This was our first time dining at the Old Clam House and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was amazing and fresh. Most importantly our server Victor was outstanding, friendly and personable. He made our experience phenomenal that we will certainly come back.
