The steak and the chicken were excellent, As was the brussels sprouts salad. One of the best restaurants in downtown Evanston. Worth a visit.
Easter Sunday brunch was just average, friends recommended the restaurant but it was just ok
Food was incredible. It is the M-star(not officially) place to take the parents when they’re in town!
Very tasty food! I loved the combination of flavors in the dishes.
Overall great place. I thought my meal could have been much hotter it was barely warm but the quality was great. Beer was excellent.
Prices were a bit on the high side and I thought the specials were overpriced. We had the warm pecan tart with gelato, it was really really good.
Great wine selections, try the flights! Servings are so generous , we had salad, truffled eggs and dessert(to share). The entrees were great last time, but very large for us.
Food was well done, not a huge variety of entrees but enough to have several options. Wide wine list with option for flights.
The food is always fantastic and the server was great.
Loved this little gem! Food was so delish. I had the butter lettuce salad and the Burrata Ravioli. Both were outstanding. The hubs had the Steak Frites which came in a sauce that was darn near drinkable, it was that good. Wine flights are fun and reasonably priced. We weren't thrilled with our creme brulee trio which lacked pizazz/flavour. Definitely a place to visit again.
Outstanding whitefish preparation and salad. Service was beautiful also. The regular creme brulee in the sampler was the best; the others were more a good idea than a successful concoction. But on the whole, a most enjoyable evening!
Food did not live up to expectations, heavily salted, and flavors just not there for every dish. Would not go back
Our entrees we're excellent, this is definitely a place fit for foodies. Vibe and cocktails we're a lot of fun. Worth the drive to Evanston
Great food and service. A little on the pricey side but enjoyable
For my birthday food was excellent & we received great service
Chicken outstanding. Service fantastic. Wine list solid. Great overall dinner
Excellent food from the cheese selection to the pistachio crusted mahi mahi and the decadent chocolate cake. Also love the sparkling sampler
Very nice place with good service. Food was overpriced for quality. We both ordered steak and frites with the same cook and they came out noticeably different and for the cut it should have been cheaper. Overall a nice place for a fancy date.
The duck was great. The chicken was great, too. So were the seafood bisque and the house charcutirie.
As I say each time, a steadfast great restaurant!
The restaurant, was empty and were placed at a small table up against the wall with the pillar sticking out between me and my wife. The whole other side was wide open and noticed many nicer tables were open as we left.
Thus is the second time I have visited. The first was for a holiday buffet. Tonight was just dinner. Food and service are consistently top notch. Now on my favorites list.
Nice place to eat. Food was very good and wine selection perfect. Restaurant is a bit noisy.
The Stained Glass has NEVER disappointed! Always among the best options we consider for special occasions.
We have been going to the Stained Glass for more than a decade because we enjoy the great food, the fine service and the relaxed ambiance. Our last visit did not disappoint.
We love this restaurant. Excellent food and service. Great ambiance. Love the flights of wine offered too. Perfect night out!
Our waiter Joe was great
Great restaurant week menu but always great food. Love that you carry the Frank Family Pinot Noir, it's one of our favorites and hard to find! Great service, food and wine.
We celebrated a birthday during restaurant week. Our waiter was great and everyone had a great time.
We were 25 minutes passed our reservation to be seated. We felt that the staff at the door couldn’t care less, and our waiter who we mentioned this to just smiled. It will be a long time before we go back to this restaurant, which is too bad, because the food was pretty good.
It was a wonderful experience! Everything was delicious and the service was beyond compare!
We went for restaurant week, which was a crazy good value. Portions were huge on everything. Sauce on the steak frites wasn't my favorite but I loved the creme brulees and salad lyonnaise. Cocktail recommendation was also great. Many more items on the regular menu that I'd be happy to try when I return!
I thought that the food was not anything special. The Lobster Soup broth was delicious although the added lobster didn't help the soup. The crab cakes were OK. I had Baratta Ravioli that was served lukewarm and then when replaces with a hotter entree was not very interesting. My friend had the steak which was well cooked but the fries were limp and lukewarm. The bread was too dry and the butter did not help. The Creme Brulee sampler was delicious but the cheesecake was more cake not cheesecake. I wanted the food to be better.
Attentive service and quality food in a quiet cozy environment to enjoy for 2 or more. Neighborhood gem and worth the drive .
Absolutely fabulous food and atmosphere. Wonderful place for a special celebration!!!
This is normally one of my favorite restaurants. We dined on a Friday night during Restaurant week. The portions were huge. Almost too big. The service for us was REALLY slow. We ordered a drink and then our choices for dinner. We were there 2.5 hours. Other tables came after us and left before us. By the time our entree arrived, I wasn’t even hungry. I will still come back but this time was not the best.
the first time restaurant week, but not very good. Have't got a chance to try steak and fries, but it seems $48 for a $30 main is not that good value, since it's more like a pub food 70% fries with 8 slices of warm beef. desert is average like we can buy from grocery. not too much memory for starter, but soup is tooo salty for mushroom one.
Restaurant week night out, had a great meal! Don’t know why it took us so long to try the place, will go back for a great dinner again.
We were celebrating Special Birthdays, & we also were able to order from the “Restaurant Week “ menu.
The food was fabulous, & service was great also!
