Expensive (for what one gets), food and service is average.
As always, our dinner last night at the Tower Oaks Lodge was amazing as always. We were a group of 5 seated at the table we requested right next to one of the two fireplaces in the lodge-looking room. The ambiance especially for this time of year is perfect and the food was amazing as always. I have had the Filet Mignon 5 times within the last 2 months there and it has been consistently perfect each time.
We are sad that the Liver was taken off the menu but I guess that this is not something most Americans eat as much.
Cannot wait for our next visit!
When I think of restaurants with great ambiance, Rockville does not spring to mind. Clydes Tower Oaks has changed that forever. This is a GREAT restaurant with the best scenic surrounding of almost any in the area. Prices are typical Clydes, which is to say reasonable 20-something for a good meal. Service was excellent. The only reason I did not rate higher was due to a bit of a chill we could feel at our window seat. Which is not really out of expectation.
We celebrated Thanksgiving out this year, assuming there would be no leftovers to tempt us off our diets. But the turkey portions were quite generous and we have leftovers for another meal--maybe two:-)
Our server was friendly and attentive even on a very busy night. The Great Room where we dined was warm and cozy even with a bunch of other diners.
Our thanks to Clyde's!
We've been several times now and have always had a great meal. It was a very tiny bit rushed, seeing how it was Thanksgiving and they needed to turn tables over - totally understandable. But the turkey was excellent, the portion generous. My husband was in love with the stuffing and the server offered to get him more - very nice of him. It was also nice to see that there were other options, other than the traditional Thanksgiving food, especially for our kids. We will be back!!!!
If I might make a suggestion - perhaps a heat lamp for your very nice valet people? It was a very cold night.
We've had Thanksgiving dinner at Tower Oaks 3 times now. Food is hot and tasty. Atmosphere great and service good.
My husband and I took my elderly mother to the Lodge for Thanksgiving dinner. The food, service, and ambiance were excellent. Highly recommend!.
GOOD FOOD GOOD SEVICE GOOD TIMES
Could not have been more pleasant and festive.
Thankgiving 2011, I had dinner at Clyde's and absolutely enjoyed it. The food was very good and I remember there were 2 drink specials that were very appealing. However this Thanksgiving was different. The sage dressing was delicious but it was cold. The green beans were not cooked enough and were hard to cut even with a knife. The mashed potates/gravey and sweet potatoes were very good. The turkey was OK. I would guess that it was a compressed turkey that uses alot of salt. There were no drink specials. I got the apple pie and it was as dry as cardboard. The bread was good (had to request it 2 times) and would have been better if it were warmed. Next time I will go some place different.
excellent menu, from traditional turkey to the beef bourbignon. excellent bloody mary, to complement a tasty bowl of chili (hey, i was hungry).
My husband and I met another couple for Thanksgiving dinner at Tower Oaks. It was a great choice. The food was good. The service was very good, especially considering how packed the restaurant was. The pumpkin pie was yummy. And I didn't have to wash dishes! :-)
Has a wonderful bar with a great beer selection. The food is always outstanding.
We brought our Mom age 94, and our grandson
age 6, both enjoyed the menus and the attentive
service. Our table was before a large stone fireplace,
and the rustic lodge feel was perfect for our family Thanksgiving
Celebration. Everyone was happy!
On a holiday I didn't expect the creativity and interesting offerings. It was great and everyone was very satisfied with their choice.
If you don't mind a stuffed bobcat staring at you (and deer and moose), you will enjoy this "hunting lodge" restaurant with great food and prompt and smiling service! Prices were reasonable and valet parking was very efficient.
We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner here but at 11:30 am, I would have preferred the brunch menu instead of the dinner menu. But the haddock and beef ragout were both very flavorful and the hummus appetizer was ample and tasty.
This restaurant has good food, reasonable prices, and excellent service.
One of the principal selling points of the Tower Oaks Lodge is its elaborately decorated dining rooms. It is always interesting and fun to look at the items on the walls and ceilings of the various rooms. The food is quite tasty but the menu has limited options. A nice feature is that the restaurant allows substitution of different side items for the entrees. This was especially important to us because many of the side dish options were not to our liking. The dessert choices are tempting so you might want to save room to try one.
Our waitress, Michele J. was exceptionally pleasant and responsive. We were totally pleased with her service.
I love this place. Very classy. Top class everything from service to whats being served.
I often go to Tower Oaks for their steak special, and it is a reliably good experience. The food was good and as ordered. Service is always friendly and efficient. There is a reason I keep going back.
Convenient place to meet up with friends. Some portion sizes could be a little larger and sides could be added to make the plate more appealing, especially the crab cake entree. Also, the Brunch menu items could be enhanced, not enough variety for breakfast/brunch food.,
We had a great dinner !! The service was great..the food selections were fantastic !! Wonderful night !
We love coming here. The food is consistently excellent. The menu has just the right number of items / variety. They also have no problem swapping any of the side dishes with any other entree. We always ask for a room with windows since it is situated in the woods.
was completely surprised by appetizer described as poached egg with arugula and a bit of cream sauce - surprise- the egg was poached and then deep fried !! amazing and delicious. brunch menu quite varied and delicious.
The meal was simply delicious from start to finish. What a lovely atmosphere and fine service. The filet mignon special was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the bananas foster cheesecake was out of this world.
Great ambiance and service, but even more remarkable was the food. Love the rustic decor. Went on a busy Friday night, but service was great. The only challenge of the evening was finding a parking spot!
I have dined at this restaurant twice in the past 2 weeks. Both times, the meals were delicious and the service was good. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli and it was wonderful.
The setting is lovely, the food is interesting as well as delicious,
and the service is excellent. I've been here many times and have not
Hard to imagine where you are; the look is sort of Adirondack Lodge, and generally it works, although it's a little too crowded with artifacts (and some "junque") and people to be truly a hideaway. But for a romantic dinner for 2 it served perfectly. Clearly designed as much of business meals and parties as it is for just two people, but we ended up with a very quiet, secluded table. Great service, and decent food. I'd suggest going to the happy hour first, for the half price oysters, then have a table reserved for a little more dinner after.
Good place to get away form it all, even for an every day meal. Excellent for business lunches, family meals, terrific for Sunday brunch. Food is reliable, service ok though not great, decor takes you away into a special but not too chichi place sort of like an old hotel or hunting lodge, without the roughing it part.
Clyde's at Tower Oaks is always a dependable place for great food and service. We took our Sister-in-law here and she just loved it. We had drinks at the bar, than dinner in the main room. My husband and I have taken family and friends to the Tower Oaks Lodge because we can expect the best and won't be embarrassed to take anyone there!
Always a pleasure to visit your establishment
This is a great place for a weeknight dinner with friends. We had the duck "pad thai" and the wild mushrooms w/ creamed chestnuts over polenta. We both cleaned our plates.
Greatest Place Since the Invention of SwissCheese! Highly Recommended.
Tower Oaks Lodge is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the area. Clydes out did themselves when they brought the lodge down from Maine.
My husband had the Grilled Filet Mignon and I had the Trout Parm and both of us it tasted very, very good. The location is comfortable and light romantic for lovers ;) You will enjoy your pleasure trip to the Tower Oaks Lodge.
Food was excellent and unusual dishes. Sdervice was also excellent.
Advance reservations are necessary and it can get very crowded.
My husband likes his food very hot when it comes to the table and Tower Oaks never disappoints. Those in our party who had the crab cakes enjoyed them very much (and they are tough customers as we visit the eastern shore often in the summer and love our crabs!) I usually take advantage of the monthly special and enjoyed the prime rib but felt it wasn't as flavorful as I like and it was a little dry (maybe med rare next time)
Our service was attentive and punctual but didn't catch our server's name :(
Nice evening overall!!
Our waitress was terrific!!!! And the filet was delish!!!
Really enjoyed ourselves
