My boyfriend and I went to Bar Oso after reading great Opentable reviews. I made a Saturday night dinner reservation for 6:30pm. The restaurant was already packed when we arrived but we were greeted by the hostess and were seated immediately. I'd recommend a reservation if you're able to secure one! The first thing I noticed is that the space is small. All tables are seated close to each other so you'll be able to overhear everything being said at the table next to you. The music is also very loud. It didn't hurt the experience but it certainly didn't help. As for service, it was great. The hostess was friendly and our server was great too. I was a little wary because some reviews mentioned the lack of attentiveness by staff but we had a great experience. After taking our orders, our server checked in on us about 4 times over the course of the 2-hour evening and that was plenty for us. My biggest disappointment (and I hate to say this because I had such high hopes for this) was the food. We had the fresh & cured charcuterie board, octopus "Jorge" style, the lamb meatballs, and duck liver montaditos. I would say that the charcuterie board and duck liver montaditos were both 9/10 experiences. The Jorge style octopus and lamb meatballs were good but nothing special (6/10). These two dishes came out strangely lukewarm and very bland. We weren't impressed at all. The cocktails, on the other hand, made me swoon. I had the Trophy Wife and my boyfriend had the Oso Sour. Both were definitely 11/10. We were ecstatic about these two drinks. I would highly recommend trying whatever cocktails you can! They were absolutely phenomenal. In conclusion, I would definitely come to Bar Oso again although it would most likely be for drinks rather than dinner! Thank you for a good 4-star experience! More

Loved the Five Sails. Service was outstanding and only outdone by the view which included a bald eagle perched on one of the sails watching us eat. Wow! More

Moroccan | Gastown, Vancouver

Moltaqa is translated as a place where people meet, gather and talk.

Beautiful and cozy Moroccan restaurant, that brings healthy and delicious food, wine varietal from all over the world and creates radiant oasis in the heart of Gastown.

Moroccan cuisine is a delicious combination of mouthwatering flavors that make it unique. Moroccan food is incredibly diverse, thanks to the country's interaction with other cultures and nations over the centuries. Influenced by Berbers, Arabs, Andalusian, Mediterranean and especially French.

We use traditional Moroccan Tagines for cooking, where the convection produced by the design of the pot cooks everything perfectly. The dish is naturally and continuously basted - ingredients are moist and the meat buttery.

No Fat, No Oils used. All our meat is halal and hormone- and antibiotic-free. We have also vegan and pescetarian options.
