    We waited over 30 min after ordering before our food was served and 2 of 4 steaks were severely overcooked. I ordered a medium rare bone in ribeye that was med well. They did cook us 2 new steaks, but the others ate their dinner and were mostly done by the time the new steaks arrived. When boxing up our leftovers the Mac n cheese was thrown away so we had to wait until they replaced it. When paying the bill the suggested tips were significantly off. Suggested 20% tip on a $227 bill was $75. Did give me a $50 discount.

    From beginning to end, this was an excellent dining experience. The entry procedure started the evening with the speakeasy vibe followed by a quiet dining area where we could hear the bar music pleasantly playing in the background. The service was outstanding which was only surpassed by the food. This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Highly recommend Vernon’s Speakeasy!!

    We had the ribeye - they put a mushroom sauce - taste like blue chesse - it actually ruined the steak. The steaks stand alone - they don't need a topping or sauce - very disappointed in the main course.

    I’ve dined at Vernon’s in the past and experienced outstanding food and exceptional service, so I was really looking forward to returning last night. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience. We attended one of their comedy nights, and unfortunately, the entertainment was just as disappointing as the dining experience. There were four comedians, and none of their performances were particularly funny or entertaining. Comedy is certainly subjective, but we found ourselves underwhelmed by the entire show. The service was also very disappointing and certainly not what I have come to expect from an establishment of this caliber. We were never informed about the charcuterie offering, and by the time we made our way over to enjoy it, the boards were nearly empty, with no plates available. Unfortunately, the meal itself wasn’t much better. I ordered the chicken, which was dry and underwhelming. When visiting an establishment like Vernon’s, especially given the price point, there is a reasonable expectation of attentive service, quality food, and an enjoyable overall experience. Sadly, this visit fell short in every category. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I know Vernon’s is capable of delivering an exceptional experience because I’ve enjoyed it firsthand. Between the poor service, disappointing food, and lackluster entertainment, the evening simply wasn’t worth the price we paid.

    Definitely an upscale, themed restaurant dating back to the 1930s Chicago experience. The jass band and vocalist kept the mood going. The added menu item, seared tuna, was absolutely delightful, tender, and delicious. The Native American beef (14 oz ribeye) was tender and cooked to perfection. Definitely a place to frequent.
