Amazing. Everything we had hoped. Had the chefs tasting menu and it was incredible. Service was impeccable. Everything we ate, I could never in a million years make myself and we will be back.
The restaurant/architecture itself is beautiful. The service is probably the best I have ever had at a restaurant. Being able to order from the bar in the waiting area while your table is being prepared was extraordinary. Lots of food bonuses like choice of bread, amouse bouche, small desserts, and cookies to take home. The cocktails were wonderful. Everything we ordered came with a polite explanation. Decor was modern and classy. I'll be back !

A meal this special and artfully prepared, made with locality sources ingredients is something you must treat yourself took at least once a year! Chef Voltaggio is phenomenal!!!
We came for brunch. Wonderful service and the food was amazing!
It took a friend of mine from afar to interest me in trying this restaurant. She saw the celebrity chef Voltaggio on the Today Show and said to me, "the next time I come to Frederick, I want to go to the Volt restaurant." I always thought it was out of my league, but out of curiosity, I checked the menu to find out that on weekdays there's a special for a 3 course meal, and a brunch on weekends for more affordable than I expected. This is possible for us to celebrate a special occasion, being my husband's birthday and mother's day a few days ahead. We just combined the two and made reservations for Volt.
40th birthday and sat at Table 21 (chefs table) for the 21 course experience and it was the finest dining experience I have ever had.
Chef’s Tasting Menu is worth every penny!!! I highly recommend it while on a date or with a larger group. Each course brings up some fun and interesting conversation.

VOLT is our absolute favorite special occasion restaurant in the DMV area. This was our 4th time dining there and the service and food are consistently wonderful. The waitstaff have great personalities, make perfect suggestions, and are fun as well as professional. The food and drinks are amazing. I really appreciate that our teens are always able to order mocktails that taste as good as the cocktails. The one suggestion I will make is to request a booth because this was the only time I have ever had a table in the middle of one of their rooms. This makes it just a touch more difficult for us to hear everyone at the table, but that would be the case in any restaurant. We will certainly be back!
We had high expectations for the tasting menu and wine pairing. I was shocked by how much those expectations were surpassed. Easily the best meal I've ever had, and probably 3 of the best 5 bites I've ever had.
Fantastic service as always, and a seasonal menu that's always interesting. This time I stuck with the seafood selections in each course, and all were superb. Wine recommendations and flexibility were outstanding as well.
Fantastic service and ambiance. We've been before for a previous anniversary and this one was just as special. the food is mind blowing and the staff phenomenal. Fantastic place.
We went for our 10th anniversary and it was amazing! I highly recommend going on the days they have the three course pre-fix menu because it's a little less expensive for those on a strict budget like we are. But it was completely worth the splurge. The cocktails were amazing, as was the food. They bring little extras to your table to try that aren't an extra charge - just part of the experience. Sometimes fancy restaurants charge you a lot for a little food, but the portions are generous, combined with the little extra treats and bread, we left very satisfied!
A wonderful meal with my wife. We truely enjoy going there.
We had an early reservation on Sunday and ordered the multi-course tasting menu with beverage pairing. It was sensational! The ingredient combinations were creative, and the presentation was beautiful. The service was outstanding. All beverage choices were perfect. I can't wait to return!

This was our second time at Volt for brunch. Everything is outstanding - the hostess who greets you, the serving staff, the food, and the ambiance. I want to come back for dinner with my husband. I LOVE the cookie you get at the end to take away.
My one suggestion - add a hook in the stalls in the ladies room so women can hang their coats/purses rather than put them on the floor.

It was an anniversary meal. We are serious foodies. So every big chance we get, we go BIG. THE ATMOSPHERE in the from lounge was comfortable . The dinning room was neat, clean and organized. All table had the ability to see the chefs kitchen: food run down. The yellowtail tartar was unbelievable, the ravioli top notch and the short ribs were to die for. The trumpet mushrooms where disappointing they felt like they were missing such potential flavor. And the lamb while having amazing flavors form the meat, it was thick cut and awe fully chewy/tough. But tasted good. We did not order dessert but were still give some treats to try. They were amazing. Great restaurant. Hoping for a like more intimate environment but I realized other guests control that. We will be back again.
Very disappointing for the amount of money we spent. It's a bad sign that something is wrong in the kitchen when they send the waiters out midway thru the meal to offer more bread. Starters were wonderful but the entrees were subpar. We were expecting better based on our prior wonderful experiences at Aggio.
I was celebrating the 70 year birthday of a dear friend and had arranged to have a special birthday cake made for them. Volt was most gracious about letting me bring the cake to them the day before and then bring it out with the candles lit at the desert portion. My friend really enjoyed her short ribs and I enjoyed my omelette with bacon, cheese and carmelized onions. The omelette was cooked perfectly and completely and did not have a speck of scorch brown anywhere and was the yellowest egg omelette I've ever seen which is apparently due to locally sourced eggs.

We are foodies and we would rate Volt as SPECTACULAR! The food was so delicious, BEAUTIFUL, healthy, and portions are ample. So grateful for creative brilliance in the kitchen. The bread was to die for [a couple of time,] the service was outstanding - gentle, knowledgeable, and sensitive to our 'mood'. It was an all-around wonderful evening - absolutely worth every penny. We will go back again and again! We ate in the kitchen room, so watched and learned! Do yourself a favah - go and enjoy!

Well portioned, very good food with interesting flavor combinations. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We went on weekend and had to take an early reservation to get in, appreciated that staff didn't rush us to clear the table but let us enjoy meal and conversation.
Food was absolutely amazing. For the quality (creativity, taste, etc) we felt that it was a good value. I would gladly return.
Everything from the food to the service was fantastic. We had a girls’ night to celebrate a birthday, and it was a great time for everyone. I have been determined to like beets, and if I had tried them at Volt the first time, I wouldn’t have had to try so hard!

We truly enjoyed celebrating my husband's birthday at the Volt. He is a self described foodie whose goals include dinning at every fine restaurant within driving distance from home. This was our first visit to Volt. Each course was beautifully plated and delicious. The wine selection was varied and large. Hopefully we will return in a few months. The 45 minute drive was worth it.
Everything was incredible from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The staff was exceptional, the food was perfection! The chefs table is worth every penny! Very accommodating with allergies as well!
At a friend's recommendation, we went to Volt to celebrate a birthday. Wow, what a wonderful decision! We started with drinks: one well-balanced cocktail and a unique and very tasty beer, respectively. After viewing the menu, we chose to go a la carte, although the chef's tasting menu looked amazing. Our first and second courses were outstanding: surprising and delicious dishes that paired both everyday ingredients, like carrot, and exotic ones, like specialty mushrooms, with spices from various cultural cuisines. The desserts, including one on the house in honor of the birthday celebrant, were very good. But it was the main dishes that won our hearts. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and the attention to dietary restrictions was greatly appreciated. We will be going back to Volt, despite the 45-minute drive, as soon as we can find another reason to celebrate. Tuesdays deserve celebration, yes?
The stand-outs for us were the fresh food quality, interesting and excellent combination of flavors, beautiful presentation and a wait staff that was just right: attentive and friendly rather than hovering and stuffy. This was not a meal that we could have prepared at home which made it a very enjoyable and worth every penny.
Did the 15 course Chefs Counter menu. You might think that in 15 different plates you might find something that wasn’t exactly your taste, but every dish was fantastic. The wine pairing was spot on for each dish. At the end of the night when the chefs were asking which course was my favorite I honestly couldn’t answer because the entire experience was consistently great. The service was also excellent. All around the dining experience was stellar.
Wonderfully creative food preparation with beautiful plating. Delicious and healthy. Volt is an elegant restaurant with excellent service. It is a good place to go for a special occasion or if you want to try a place that excels in creating interesting ingredient combinations. The only negative was a heavy hand with the salt in two of my three dishes.
Absolutely fantastic! It was an wedding anniversary and I went for the whole enchilada, the Chef's Counter. We watched as our 16 perfect courses were made and the hardest part was not eating too fast. All was so good and there was seemingly always another on the way. Paired wine was worth the cost. Speaking of cost, as the saying goes, 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it'. But if 'found' money comes to you, the way as it did to me and you love great food, you can do no better than to enjoy it here.
Had an excellent brunch - smoked salmon appetizers were very tasty and entrees were good also. I am glad that items are included on the brunch menu now for a supplemental charge - got to where we missed having something more than eggs or granola as options. Understand the economics of it all, but now good to have the option available. Service, as always, was spot on.
Food was delicious! As a non-meat eater (pescatarian) there were a number of good choices. There were a lot of egg options, but better than no meatless options at all. I had the cod which was excellent, but also an upcharge of $6. A bit of a turnoff, really.
Overall, the food and service were absolutely excellent!

We enjoyed the tasting menu for Easter Brunch. The food was exquisitely displayed and the combinations of textures and flavors was amazing. To go over the top a wine pairing was offered with each course and truly complimented and enhanced each! Fabulous!!!
The food and the service were excellent. It was a very nice family occasion.
Overall experience was great. Only comment is that we were seated at a table facing a Market St. window and the afternoon sun was blinding. Would suggest a pull-down shade for temporary protection at this time of the afternoon.
