VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. “The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques.” said Voltaggio. VOLT’s relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color pallet that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.

Private dining and meeting space is available in our Conservatory. The Conservatory seats between 6 - 12 persons. In the conservatory we offer audio | visual capabilities for presentations.
In addition to our Conservatory, we have the option of hosting your event in the Gallery. The Gallery showcases a collection of local artists work and can accommodate events up to 32 persons.

VOLT is available for private parties and our dedicated dining team is on hand to assist in planning your event. Everything from menu selection to wine pairings can be custom designed for a memorable occasion.
We offer a number of settings for your private event.
The Conservatory is available for parties of up to 12 guests.
Audio/visual capabilities are available in the conservatory.
Chef's Dining Room can be reserved for parties of up to 20 guests.

For a wedding reception, social affair or corporate event, we offer the possibility of exclusive use of the restaurant. We can accommodate up to 70 guests for a seated dinner and 175 guests for a cocktail reception and provide the full attention of our entire staff.

First experience at Fredericks “premier” restaurant...We were not seated in the main dining room which was off putting. We sat is a lunch style room where the kitchen was and the lights were bright. No less than 5 people spoke to us and waited on us through out the evening. Tasting Room and even Wine Kitchen are better experiences. A shame because the food was very good. Atmosphere, service and ambiance are not 5 star. Do not recommend if if you’re expecting a first class experience.

The staff was great, super level of services plus lots of surprises like a cookie to go, candies, and much more. Each dish was beautiful presented and well cooked. This is now our Annersary tradition.

Went for my 58th birthday and had a relaxing and delicious time. Don’t overload on their delicious bread so you can better enjoy the delicate flavors of the tasting menu

We enjoy Volt on special occasions or with groups of friends. Our experience last week was fine, but not at the usual standard. The tasting menu had 10 courses that was 3-4 too many for us, so we had a four course a al carte meal. The food was excellent as always. The golden rice entree and seafood mains were exceptional.

The experience was moderated by the poor quality service. Our waiter showed little interest in our experience. He answered questions with a note of disdain. The service was quite slow relative to usual.

We will try again and hope for a better performance as Volt has been a real favorite for the past few years.

This is a foodies' restaurant. We travel from Brooklyn at least once a year to visit it. This time was exceptional as the tasting menu was just too much for my wife. When we told the waitstaff, they packed up everything in the last few courses exquisitely and we took it home for the next night. A wonderful service experience.

VOLT was amazing. The service was top-notch and the food was delicious. We had the 3-course + the tasting course and while the food portions are on the smaller side, all in all, the flavors were very satisfying and we were happily impressed with the quality and taste. The foie gras was very good, the octopus was superb, the lamb loins were just right. The chocolate, the extra sweets (macarons, etc.) and the to-go cookie was over the top. We had a great time. The place is highly recommendable.

Service was impeccable from start to finish. Food, however, was less than stellar. Octopus was a bit fishy and too salty. Rockfish with Red Curry did not have much curry flavor and other ingredients didn't complement the dish. Dessert was a strawberry concoction that had too many things going on. Individually each item wasn't bad ... just too many different textures and strawberry related items. I think I just had the unfortunate luck to pick three items from the many options that just did not work that night. My mother opted for the chicken, which was nondescript, but on the positive side, was juicy from start to finish ... difficult to find a chicken breast where that is the case.

Super-duper-fantastic!! Great food, terrific service, and love the setting in old house. (only slight “knock”: the trumpet mushroom dish was good but bit monotone— needed some side or additional flavor combo). We’ll be back for sure!!!!

Went for Sunday brunch with some friends. We've gone several times for brunch over the years. $35 for a 3 course is a wonderful deal. The food is simply outstanding. We had the shrimp grits (with poached egg), Salmon toast, cheese plate, ravioli, french toast, eggs with sorghum. Desserts were wonderful. Every plate was a hit, no disappointments. Service is very pleasant and professional: they make you feel very special.

The food was outstanding. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and ordered the tasting menu. Unfortunately it took over three hours for the entire meal, it was 45 minutes for the first “bite” to come out. Some courses were practically on top of each other. Then there would be a painfully long (15 min) wait for the next. Overall we felt like it was a bit of an ordeal and didn’t totally measure up to our expectations and the cost $$. Disappointed but it could have been a fluke with the kitchen last night. They did offer us a round of complimentary drinks and a special dessert as they definitely realized it was dragging out. Of course we were so stuffed and exhausted we barely touched the last few courses or desserts.

Definitely one of the best culinary experiences we've had in a while. Chef Voltaggio and his staff impress you with not only the flavors in the food, but with the service and attention to detail. If you live in DC or surrounding area, get to Frederick for a night at VOLT.

Fantastic dining experience with 10-course chef's tasting menu. The early courses were especially notable and the wine pairings were excellent. Service was top-notch and consistent; attentive without being overly so, professional but still friendly and good at "reading" the table. Would like to try for lunch sometime; too pricey to make a regular dinner stop (for me), but worth seeking out for a special occasion, even if that's just the desire to have an extraordinary meal.

A very special 10 course meal to celebrate a special birthday. Each dish was so beautiful and, even more important, delicious. And the portion sizes were perfect. Service was also excellent. Only one fairly long period of time between 2 of the courses. Highly recommend it for a special occasion. Of course, it was $, but worth it

My husband and I went for our first anniversary. We really enjoyed our evening! We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation, but we were nevertheless seated immediately (though we could have chosen to wait out the time in the very fancy bar and lounge). We felt pampered, the food was both delicious and truly photo-worthy, and, because of the special occasion, we ended up receiving what was essentially a complimentary three course dessert! Who knew a chocolate chip cookie could be so luxurious? Even though it was pricey, it was well worth it for the special occasion, and we plan on returning!

We came all the way from Washington DC to give Volt a try for Fathers Day dinner. It was well worth the value and we were taken excellent care of. Everything we had was remarkable but the standout dish that I had was the carrot appetizer. It was in a league of its own!

We dinned at Volt on June 16th for my wife's birthday. This is our second time at the restaurant. We had the ten course tasting menu. The food was delirious and the flavors well blended.
Each course was exquisitely presented.
The wait staff was very inattentive and we were given plenty of time to enjoy each course.
We are certainly looking forward to our next visit.

We paid $265 for two of us to have the tasting menu. The serving started at 6pm and took almost 3 hours for the 10 courses . We were served the wrong course three times and I saw the wrong food delivered to others four more.... We were never asked at the end "how was everything " because the poor girl saw three plates go back half eaten and the poor delivery....(she knew the answer so why ask. ) I respectuflly offered my opinion of tough meat (Squab and Steak), dull knives and poor delivery of the food....after that ...our candy (offered with the check)...we asked for a bag....the bag was left at the host stand....to avoid any more contact I am sure.

Great place for special occasions. Definitely pricey, but if you know what you're getting into then you won't have sticker shock. Food was delicious and while the restaurant is upscale, the staff is very friendly and it doesn't feel like a "stuffy" or ritzy environment.

My wife and I had a great dinner at Volt. The only suggestion would be to provide a better cut of steak for the tasing menu. It was a NY Strip, which was pretty chewy. I love filet mignon and it would have been a perfect compliment to the tasty sauces included. Other than that, we loved it.
