Wild Ginger Downtown Seattle
One of my guests ordered the fish, and we had to have a manager come and ensure we got our meal.
I was disappointed, there were hood problems in the kitchen and only a select few dishes were available. The waiter tried his best but the food was mediocre and so many items unavailable, I won't go back.
It was a surprisingly bad day at this restaurant that was normally outstanding. The steamer / searing area in the kitchen was broken and SO many dishes were unavailable. The duck was available, but it was dry as if it had been sitting a long time under a heat lamp before it came out.
Will we come back? Maybe. This was one bad meal after having so many great ones at Wild Ginger. But for the price paid, it was not a great value today.
Reservations mean nothing but at least the manager took care of our drinks.
I have gone to this restaurant many times, but less so in recent years. This is my last visit. Despite making a reservation months in advance I was made to wait for half an hour to get a table (near the bathrooms of course) presumably because we were only a party of three and that included a child. We were told repeatedly to sit and wait until they could find us a table, as though we were inconveniencing the staff. We only got a table because we finally went up to the desk and complained loudly after several "drop in" parties of 3 were seated ahead of us. The waitress was extremely busy and had no real time for us. Not her fault. Food was mediocre. Prawns were tough and we didn't eat more than 3. Satay was cold. For unclear reasons bus person keep coming by and wanting to take our food away while we were still eating. Presumably they wanted the table. Drinks were slow. Last one came out with desert. Also, food came out first, then rest of silverware we waited for. Where we sat, near kitchen and bathroom, was extremely noisy. The quality of food was absolutely not worth the cost. Very different than the way the restaurant was a few years ago.
We were in Seattle for a wedding. Ten of us went to Wild Ginger on the recommendation of a local friend. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We had a great table with windows on two sides and a view of a Chihuly chandelier in the window of the building next door. Fabulous night!
Good overall as a pre-symphony dinner but must say I was disappointed that although we informed our server that one of our group would have to leave a bit early, and we made sure his order was put in first, his meal arrived AFTER everyone else’s and he didn’t have time to eat and enjoy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Wild Ginger...was recommended by a friend from Houston
Wild ginger has changed a lot over the years, not for the best in my opinion. Many favorite small plate items of disappeared from the menu, but the food we had except one dish was very good. We like the potstickers, the sea bass, and the ankgor wat chicken. Lamb skewers appetizer unfortunately were chewy and dry as were the sauce/pickles with it... but they brought it after our main course so I think they forgot it on the counter for 30 minutes.
Service was spotty, our waiter was nice & available, our dish clear was so prompt twice we had to tell him we weren't done yet, and the lady that brought the dishes was abrupt almost angry like I'd expect in biker bar.
I requested on the reservation a booth or a seat at the bar where they're cooking, which apparently they didn't read because they put us out on a table in the other room. I like the other room too so I didn't mind. The wild ginger has become noisy or over the years. Decor just started seeing all them tired to me. I did like their two-person tables were angled against the window instead of slap up against each other. That was nice.
One of our always all time faves!
Always great food, service and value. My favorite restaurant in all Seattle, and I eat out a lot.
The food itself is the main attraction here. The green papaya salad is spectacular and unique in this town. Main courses are superb and the variety is great. Service is always impeccable. Noise level can be a problem when the place is getting full. So convenient to the symphony.
We were seated upstairs at a table for two next to the air duct vents. These are dirty and not nice to look at. Perhaps some sort of screening around them. Very little art work upstairs.
Our table wobbled. We requested a new table but the waiter was able to fix it on the spot. I really detest wobbly tables.
Amazing food. Got the seven layer beef, pad Thai and green curry chicken. All were wonderful. The beef dish was definitely the favorite. Matt was our server and he was excellent
The food and the service were amazing! We had a wonderful time!
Quality of the food and the service were first rate. Our server was attentive but also respectful of our group's rare opportunity to get together. Wild Ginger consistently provides a fine dining experience.
Recommended by a friend who lives up here. Visiting Seattle for a couple of days
Great food. Creative. Average service, forgot one dish, disappeared when we needed our bill. A little pricey, but worth a visit.
The food at Wild Ginger keeps me coming back! I love the green beans and the peppered scallops! Not to mention the seafood Thai noodles!
Awesome service!!! Great flavors.
The food was pretty good, but the service could use a little improvement.
Creative food options. Really enjoyed it.
Food was well-prepared and portions were ample for two. Service was excellent.
When we visit Seattle we always come to The Wild Ginger. Been doing this for 30 years. Always good. Area seems to have run downhill but the restaurant is still great.
Wonderful restaurant! Superb food, great service, friendly staff.
Good restaurant with a nice menu. Service was very good but it was obvious the restaurant was under staffed. Management why dont you have sufficient staff?
In Laws visiting
We loved out waitress, Kelsey. She was very accommodating and wonderful at what she does. We are also thankful to the restaurant to welcome a "singing telegram" for our friend's 30th birthday. Cocktails were delicious as were appetizers and our dinner.
Literally the best food to ever be eaten by humankind.
Excellent food, service, ambiance- I recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants a good Seattle Experience!
As always, Wild Ginger downtown was superb!!!
The before theater dinner crowd was extremely heavy and was seated late. Had to rush through the meal to make the opening curtain.
Pre-conceert rush left us waiting about 15 minutes after our reservation to get a table. Food is very tasty and the staff did what they could to make things go as fast as possible.
Great food, a little behind on reservation time but made up for it in quick service knowing we had theatre tickets
The three of us really enjoyed our meal and one is usually not into Asian food! The service was marvelous! Thank you so much for topping off our Seattle experience in such a delightful way!
Very tasty food, elegantly presented with superb service, all at a reasonable price. I return whenever I travel to Seattle for either business or pleasure.
We made early dinner reservations because we were attending an event next door. We chose the restaurant because of it's proximity to Beneroya Hall. The restaurant was full of other families doing the same thing. I was disappointed because the restaurant, due to all the reservations, was aware of how busy they would be, however, they either did not staff properly or could not accommodate all the patrons. The food took forever to arrive. Many meals arrived as singles, so our group wasn't able to have dinner together. A few of us had to leave one hour and 20 minutes after arriving, and without eating to reserve seats. One hour and twenty minutes without food being delivered! This was a very special family evening, and unfortunately it started off very disappointing.
Excellent service and food. Not too busy and not noisy.
Food was not hot on arrival, many options for dietary restrictions were unavailable, waitstaff was rude
excellent food. Great vegetarian options. Waiter made sure we got to our concert on time which was much appreciated!
