Wildfire - Glenview
We had the opportunity to sit on the patio. It was a gorgeous night which made for a wonderful evening. Great drinks and delicious food. We both had hamburgers with horseradish crust. Best burger! If you have a chance ask for Emmer as your waiter.
Every time I go to Wildfire I expect a great meal and today I wasn’t disappointed. Just Great Food.
Although my Open Table reservation specified “booth preferred away from doorways or waiter stations”, we were seated in the first booth when entering restaurant. What part of my request did the hostess not understand? In what way can I be clearer. This was a business meeting needing to be away from states areas and test request was ignored. Seating ruined meeting and entire dining experience. Waiter was very good, but service from hostess was poor.
Always a treat in the wine room with family and close friends. It's especially nice when there are a few kids, as they don't disturb or be distracted by the bustling crowds in the main dining room. Best place in Glenview for dinner after 8pm!
Server was inattentive and very timid. Food was good but sadly Not the best service!
We always like to spend a special occasion here. Service is always good and food is great!
Another excellent experience!!!
Service was great food was great I had beef Wellington everyone else had porrkchops all said it was great
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. The waitress mentioned this and asked how many years we'd been married as soon as she approached the table. She was great with helping me pick a Chardonnay by describing the various wines by the glass. We both enjoyed our meals, I had the salmon special and my husband had the prime rib. We both had the au gratin potatoes and they were fantastic! He ordered the red wine flight and it was a nice taste of the different wines. We received a complimentary anniversary dessert. Overall we had a great experience, quick, accurate service in a nice atmosphere. Wildfire is great for couples, families with kids or for large celebrations. Good selection of food.
Our table was ready on time and when we asked if we could eat outside they were able to accommodate us. The food was great and the steaks done to our requested “doneness”. It’s a little pricey but worth it.
It was my son’s 18th birthday. We were all in a great and celebratory mood and the waiter just wasn’t. He barely smiled when he put my son’s chocolate dessert in front of him and mumbled happy birthday. My kids were ok with the experience but I was pretty disappointed overall. It was my first time at Glenview location, which we chose since it was easier for my oldest to get to from working downtown. I’ll go back to Lincolnshire location. Friendlier staff.
Good gluten free menu but they really struggled to serve something without garlic
This Wildfire has very nice outdoor seating and it is not too loud outside. Had the French Dip that is made with their Prime Rib and it was excellent. My friend had the open face Salmon sandwich that was also very good. The cornbread is very tasty and they will bring more if you ask. The Greek salad was one of the best I ever had and the side portion is very generous. I have eaten at Wildfire many times and have never been disappointed. Service was also outstanding.
Excellent food, service and active ambience
Ayeda, server expertise in knowledge of menu and very personable and sweet
You can always count on good food and good service at Wildfire. And this visit was no exception. I did experience a disappointment, however. I was looking forward to the duck that they only serve on Thursday nights. I was told at a previous visit (after we couldn't get the daily special), that I should call in and "reserve" the daily special. I made sure to do that and I was looking forward to the duck all day. Unfortunately, when I tried to order it, I was told they were out of it. I explained that I had "reserved" one and the server double checked - to no avail. So, although what I ordered was good, it wasn't what I wanted. I was told to come before 7 if I wanted the special. Unfortunately, because of work, I cannot get in before 7.
Average food at above average price. I feel that I the quality level has really dropped. Very disappointed.
We received outstanding service! Food as always was delicious.
Our waiter on Thursday night was fantastic. Great suggestions, service and a surprise dessert to celebrate a new job. The Glenview Wildfire is our restaurant of choice because of the consistency of top notch food, drink and service provided at lunch and dinner.
We enjoyed our food, particularly the cedar plank salmon and had a great birthday celebration with family.
We've been here many times. The food and service are always fantastic. I try to change up my order but I always end up getting the prime rib. It's the best prime rib I've ever had and it's incredibly consistent. The menu is a bit on the pricey side but it's a nice splurge once in a while. On the surface you wouldn't think the restaurant would be kid friendly, but it actually is pretty good for kids. They have a kids menu and the staff is always very engaged with the kids.
Service and food was great except I was shocked when I reviewed my bill at home to see that I was charged for Virgin Mary drink which I never ordered .
I have been at wildfire many times I never had this problem before it could be a typo that’s all but I have to mention it that’s all
We were put in a back room which was freezing cold. Everyone was cold, it took an act of congress to get it warmed up.
It was our first visit, highly recommended to us, and it did not disappoint! From the drinks, appetizers, entree to dessert & coffee, it was a wonderful dining experience.
Waiter almost dropped a knife on me! And front desk kept calling me Marci when I told her that wasnt my name. Food is good but it's always off there.
Second time I've been here on a Sunday where they've run out of something. My reservations have been relatively early (6 pm) so it seems like there's a problem with planning in the kitchen.
I found out after we made the reservation on Open Tables and ate that there were NO POINTS given for the reservation. I was very disappointed. This was the first time it happened and I had no reason to look for that reservation restriction.
Great!! Our waitress was great and made tonight very special!
Wildfire in Glenview does not disapoint. We have eaten at this resturant before a few times, when we travel back to Chicago. Located in the N Suburbs of Glenview. I would suggest always adding the au gratin potatoes with any entree.
I have dined at Wildfire many times over the years, but this time the filet mignon was bland. It could have used some flavor.
Once again I was so impressed with the wonderful service, excellent food and a marvelous dining experience. The Saturday night special, was delicious and cooked perfectly. Looking forward to another visit soon.
Food was excellent and server was very knowledgeable about what was allergy friendly and gluten free. Portions are small for the price, but everything was delicious. Pretty loud on a Saturday night so not the best for conversation.
We had 11 people. Our reservation was honored, the service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious.
Excellent food, efficient service, and a cozy feel for such a large restaurant. Serving are large, so appetizers are not really needed--even the salad entrees are awfully big. Baby back ribs are a delight, wonderful sauce. Be sure to ask for extra napkins if the server does not offer them. The seafood platter is very good, salmon, scallops, shrimp, just enough of each. Sides are awfully good, especially the buttery mashed potatoes and rich creamy spinach. We usually skip desserts, which are large, but there is a dessert trio that is good to share and that is not overpowering or oversized. Everything that comes to the table here is done just right and is very satisfying. Fancy? no. Trendy? no? Hotpot? no. Always busy? yes. Always satisfying? yes--and that's why it's so busy. Be sure to reserve. Both are best.
Marybeth was super nice, on top of our order! Food was prepared the way we’ve ordered every single meal.
The service, food and ambiance at Wildfire were quite nice, reminiscent of an old New York restaurant. Our server was especially patient and attentive to our 96 yr old mother.
Decided to go with the "healthy salad" on their specials menu on Wednesday. Three kinds of greens plus some additions like raisins, seeds, etc. Weird flavor in the dressing. Wouldn't order it again. It did have chicken though but that was kind of dry!
We had a wonderful lunch at Wildfire-Glenview. Service was really great and the food delicious. Had a wonderful time visiting with a good friend.
The service from our server was poor. This is the first time we were disappointed at Glenview. He was not attentive overall. He rarely listened to a full sentence before walking away. He would be in transit walking by asking how things were and not stop to hear a response. He was new to the location as I am a frequent diner at the restaurant. Fortunately, he was not arrogant. He does need better training in listening and patience. On the bright side the Halibut Dinner Special was excellent as always. The broiled lamb chops were a disappointment. They were not seasoned well and the charring was excessive. Every bite tasted like burnt meat. I will not order this meal again. I hope to come back again and see improvement or corrective measures.
