A Center City restaurant built entirely from Philadelphia's home kitchens, Recipe Philly serves a menu with no single author: over 40 food and drink recipes, each one submitted by a home cook from across the city and chosen through an open call that drew more than a thousand entries. Guided by Chef Andy Revella, the dishes move from family kitchens to a 150-seat dining room without losing what made them worth keeping in the first place. The space, designed to feel like someone's home rather than a restaurant, is warm wood and mismatched plates, a wall of vintage rolling pins, a mural of the Italian Market behind the bar. The kitchen runs fully electric with no traditional exhaust hoods, so the room smells like dinner instead of grease. A 30-seat private dining room is available for larger groups. Reserve a table and taste the recipe someone's grandmother has been perfecting for years.
