As an afternoon tea fanatic, the Raleigh Room at the Cavalier Hotel is one of the best offerings in this area. The room is very nice and has comfortable seating. The menu was as advertised, although we did not get assorted macarons, but there was so much food that there was nothing to complain about. The quality and variety of both the savories and sweets was excellent, and I loved the lemon curd and clotted cream. My one disappointment about the ambience was that it was very noisy during our visit, as there was a saxophonist playing live music in the room. He was very good, but the saxophone is a loud instrument and we were seated close by, so it was difficult to maintain a conversation. A string instrumentalist or pianist might have been more suitable for the Hotel to book for an afternoon tea atmosphere.

What an idyllic spot to have tea! Peace Hill was a lovely respite from the noise and bustle of Williamsburg. The gluten free menu was a plus too! We’ll be sure to return.

The woke experience from beginning to end was fabulous! The ambiance is a 10. Our waiter John was a 10. The food was an 11! Can’t recommend it enough. GREAT date night!
