Best American Restaurants in Nokomis

A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. When we arrived, I was informed that they had texted me that they couldnt accomodate our request to eat outside at 6:30 (only 9:30 was available). I explained that I was immunocompromised and could not eat inside the restaurant. They were able to find a table but informed us that we had to be done by 8 pm. That said, the waiter said not to worry about it- we would not be rushed- and we were not - it was a lovely evening. Coconut shrimp and eggplant appetizers were very good. Lobster bisque was fantastic- full of lobster. The complementary warm sourdougn bread was amazing. I had the crusted snapper (which i generally dont eat) was unbelievably tasty especially with the varied side dishes. My husband had the lobster risotto- excellent! They make all their desserts in house and the key lime pie was the best we've had in Florida! We will return on our next visit to sarasota!!

We were seated at a table overlooking the pond and fountain. That was the first beautiful point. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, friendly but professional. Her wine service was excellent. We both thought our dishes were exceptional. I had veal Marsala with many sliced mushrooms and a light sauce, accompanied by a taste of carrots, potatoes, spinach. My companion ordered two crab cakes which were generous with very little filler—also the carrots, potatoes and spinach. The Russian River Chardonnay was buttery and light, a perfect accompaniment. Enjoyed every minute.

Sitting outside at lunch is so pleasant. We had the fish and chips there for the first time and they were outstanding! Best we’ve had in the Sarasota area. Also their clam chowder soup is extremely tasty and full of good things. My brother-in-law had a hamburger and he said that was awesome as well.

First time for dinner and we will definitely be back! Service was amazing! I had the special swordfish and it was delish!! Nothing like having dinner with a water view!
