Best Caribbean Restaurants in Carrboro

Some restaurants are worth returning to time and time again, and Cuya continues to be one of them. This visit was particularly special because I had the pleasure of introducing a friend to one of my favorite spots. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and welcoming. Cuya now offers both indoor dining and a covered outdoor patio, giving guests a little more room to settle in and enjoy the experience. Our server was attentive, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. What I appreciated most was his willingness to find answers when he didn't have them. It's a small gesture, but one that speaks volumes about thoughtful service. We kept our order simple but satisfying: Brussels sprouts, Jamaican curry wings (extra crispy, of course), and fries. I ventured into the cocktail menu with their new pisco creation, while my friend opted for a mocktail. The restaurant itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. And in a rare downtown dining victory, we managed to find parking directly in front of the restaurant, a welcome surprise. Cuya remains firmly on my list of Raleigh favorites. The atmosphere is inviting, the hospitality feels genuine, and those Jamaican curry wings? I'd happily drive across town for them any day of the week.

Great food and drinks, especially loved the shrimp tacos.

The decor and ambience is wonderful. Everything was yummy - drinks, dessert, main dishes! The service was great and they even brought my friend a birthday shot with candles. Highly recommend!
