Best Contemporary Indian Restaurants in Palo Alto

We had a wonderful time exploring the vegetarian menu at Jashn in the Bay Area. The Paneer Trilogy was a highlight of the meal, featuring beautifully marinated, tender paneer that showcased three distinct and vibrant flavor profiles. We were also thoroughly impressed by the Mushroom Galouti, which was incredibly rich and literally melted in our mouths. Other standout starters included the Leaf Chaat, providing a refreshing and modern twist on a classic street food favorite, and the Pani Puri for that perfect savory crunch. It is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for sophisticated, well-executed vegetarian dishes in a stylish setting.

This was our first visit to Mantra, but we will be back. We were greeted as we entered and they somehow knew who we were, maybe from our reservation? We were seated right away in a perfect booth in the window near the front of the restauraunt, which provided for excellent people watching. Our drinks and apps were delivered quickly, and our server even helped us pick a few items. Highlights were the Crispy Spinach Leaf Chaat and the Peshawari Chicken, along with a basket of Garlic Naan (Yummm). Then came the Braised Goat Dum Biryani, delicious and tender with the sauces that came with it. The atmosphere is modern and lively with framed glass fixtures on the walls that change colors. They were able to serve everything in time so we could get to our show at the MVCPA two blocks away. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu.

Had such a fantastic experience today at Chaat Bhavan! I visited with my family, and everything from start to finish was just spot on. The food was absolutely delicious—full of authentic flavors and perfectly prepared. Every dish felt fresh and satisfying, and you can really tell they put care into their cooking. The service was equally impressive—staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. What really stood out was the environment: clean, vibrant, and super comfortable for a family outing. It had a great vibe that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d come back to again and again. Highly recommend if you’re craving great Indian food with top-notch service! Pls carry on with your music collection I felt in love with it.
