We sat at the bar with Darien, who took great care of us from the moment we sat down. While he can make whatever you want, do check out their drink list as there is always some new and interesting there. The food. The food. The food. To kick the eating portion of the evening off, we had a branzino crudo and warm n'juda and stracciatella with bread. Both were delicious! From there, we moved to the rigatoni and the scallops. The rigatoni was creamy and had just the right amount of sausage. The scallops were a revelation! Bathed in a light sauce and served with a banana bread (no, not the kind we make at home) and braised and dried leeks. The scallops were absolutely perfectly cooked and the bites with the bread were an amazing surprise. Every meal we have ever had at Virtu has been a truly great experience and this was yet another. Especially enjoyed the smoked olive appetizer. They presented thoughtful combinations on their offerings and menu items were beautifully plated. The waitstaff was excellent. Especially enjoyed a more mature waitstaff than seen in many restaurants. Comfortable ambiance; I really like the feel of the restaurant.
