Best Indian Restaurants in Alnmouth

Delicious food beautifully served by friendly & helpful staff. This was our first visit but we’ll definitely be back again.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Goomti on Wasbeck Road — From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional, and a special shout‑out for our host, Susmitha, who was warm and attentive throughout. We started off with the Chicken Manchurian and the chicken fried momos, both of which were knockout starters. For mains, the portions were generous in the best possible way, the restaurant asked us if we wanted to take the uneaten portions home and kindly provided trays to do so. The chicken do pyaza was rich and aromatic, while the chicken tikka masala hit that perfect balance of creamy and spiced. Paired with basmati rice and a wonderfully sweet, soft peshwari naan, it made for a seriously satisfying meal. We went for my wife’s birthday and as an extra touch were provided with a piece of cheesecake with a candle, which was very thoughtful. If you’re looking for great food, great service, and great value, Goomti is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Another fantastic visit to our favourite Indian restaurant, travelled down from Edinburgh for a couple of days, no where comes close too proper authentic Indian cuisine food more than Akbars , served by Mahboob Ali a real star very knowledgeable and insisted I have my lamb charsi cooked Asian style a bit spicer than usual, it was perfect perfectly spiced. My wife’s masala fish and chicken and channa puri was so good. All breads are so fresh and tasty and not greasy at all. Wine list is very competitively priced. We will be back very soon, thank you Akbars.

My wife and I used the Old Station to eat before attending a concert at the Civic Centre. Excellent timely service and very good food. Lots of choices on the menu with helpful notes.
