Our owner Jimmy started Mt Fuji Japanese Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse back in 2005 as an small sushi restaurant. Since then we've won 2 awards from The Courier Post Readers Choice for one of the Best Sushi and Japanese Cuisine in South Jersey. Fast forward to 2013 we opened our Hibachi Grill section and ever since then it's been the go-to place for people that wants to have fun and watch an performance at the same time. Our menu has three sections one for sushi bar items, the second one for Japanese Cuisine and the third one for the Hibachi Grill. With over 30 years of experience in Japanese Cuisine with his specialty in sushi, Jimmy strives on perfecting the art of sushi making and is always makes sure that the ingredients used are all up to standards before cooking. That is our secret to why we were able to maintain our 4.0 and above reviews from all platforms!We are the only restaurant in Deptford that serves Sushi and have Hibachi performances!

    I’ve celebrated my birthday here every year since 2022 and it is always always outstanding. My expectations are exceeded each year. The last two years we’ve had the same server, Shirley I believe her name is. She is incredibly warm, welcoming, and good-natured. The service is always on point, the entire staff seems to work so well together everything truly just flows. The food is exceptional but the ambience and service are what keep us coming back. Stephen Starr’s restaurants never disappoint but this place is truly special. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner for the 4th year in a row!

    This was our first visit to Uchi so we weren’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be one of our favorite meals we’ve ever had. Not only was the food spectacular, but the service was sheer perfection.

    We went to Mt Fuji with a party of 7 to celebrate a birthday. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed it. Six of us ordered the hibachi and one ordered sushi. Everyone was pleased. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Even the two in our party who were in their pre-teens enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended and will definitely go again.
