Rei is my great discovery. “Kaiseki“ but casual and you can talk to the chef while he is cooking. Rare in NYC! They use the best quality material to produce the best plates. I can go back again and again!!
Selections were excellent, Service very attentive and friendly in both Japanese and English. Sake choices and guidance were also very good. our second visit and since they change courses with the seasons we plan to visit at least 4 times per year. If you like Kaiseki and can afford the cost I highly recommend this restaurant.
I had the Bento Box. Perfection. My friend had the udon meal with shrimp and said it was very good. It can be a pricey lunch but the food quality, preparation and taste was first class.
