Favorite shabu shabu restaurant in LA with fresh ingredients and great service

UMAUMA KYOTO is a Japanese restaurant where exceptional ingredients, flown in directly from Japan, can be enjoyed in a relaxed and approachable setting. The kitchen is led by Head Chef Yoshitaka Mitsue, former Executive Chef of a restaurant awarded one Michelin star in the MICHELIN Guide California in both 2024 and 2025.Instead of a traditional kaiseki experience with a long, formal multi-course menu, the focus here is on simplicity and quality. Premium seasonal ingredients are prepared with minimal intervention, letting their natural flavors shine in dishes that are bold, memorable, and full of character.Guests can choose a short omakase menu, order à la carte, or mix the two, sharing dishes and enjoying a casual meal alongside sake, wine, and other drinks.Every month, the restaurant also welcomes some of Japan's top chefs for exclusive pop-up dinners, bringing one-of-a-kind culinary experiences to Los Angeles.(UMAUMA KYOTO is the sister restaurant of UMAUMA TOKYO.)
