Best Pubs in Tynemouth

We had a really lovely meal at the Wellwood Arms. All food was well cooked and presented, hot and delicious. Good portions too!! Staff were friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. Would definitely recommend this pub for food.

I really like a place that sets out to do a thing and does that thing very well, whether it's a Michelin star or a bacon sandwich. At the Ship, we wanted a light but tasty lunch and a beer. The £12.50 lunch and a pint is a bargain - excellent fish and chips and sea bass with broad bean risotto, and beautifully kept Landlord. Just what we wanted and great value. Friendly service too. Not super-1uick service, but I am sure that that's because the food is cooked fresh. It certainly tastes like it. We've been twice and it's been excellent both times. Also, the balance is just right with dogs - some people hate dogs, especially around food, and others love them. At the Ship, dogs are welcome in the bar and part of the outside, and not allowed in the restaurtant area. That's very well organised to suit (almost) everyone.

Really nice pub. Really good atmosphere and really friendly staff. Really good food. If you have not been before give it a try and I am sure you will go back.
