Last minute decision to book a table here and wasn’t disappointed. The food was delicious homemade steak & Ale pie, mash and peas with gravy.. which went well with a half pint of lager. We sat outside on the bench tables with a view over the canal.. watching the fish coming to the top and birds passing by. It was just so peaceful and wonderful. So close to nature. Staff are friendly and polite. The food is good value for money and good quality decent portion sizes. We will definitely return.

Fantastic helpful waiter arranged our roast dinner to come quickly as we were on our way to a family gathering. He could not have been more helpful. Sunday dinner was very nicely done indeed, couldn’t fault it at all. On a bank holiday weekend though, and with the sports screens, it was a bit rowdy and we were seated right by the constantly opening doors. On a quieter day it would have been more relaxing. It is a nice pub.
