Had my birthday meal there. Top notch service, top notch food. Nothing but the best. The fish was perfectly cooked and flaky, the venison was perfectly cooked and tender and the beef tartare was by far the best I have ever had. Will definitely go back again and again…

Excellent experience, wonderful food, good selection of wines and very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant staff. They were particularly nice and removed a drink which proved not to be to my husband's taste from the bill, without us even asking. We have been to quite a few Michelin-starred restaurants, and this one was definitely among the top contenders.

It's not often that the flavours and presentation of the food really makes us sit up and notice, but the dishes at El Alquimista certainly did! We took my parents out for my mother's birthday, not really knowing much about the restaurant and were made very welcome by the lovely, attentive (but not intrusive) staff throughout and the food was thoughtfully crafted and wonderfully presented. It's a small team and they clearly paid attention to the whole experience. It's not a cheap restaurant, but for high end dishes served, it's more than worth the price. Loved the home made bread selection!

We were celebrating my friend’s birthday and Trivet delivered the most magical evening from start to finish! The service was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and professional - and the culture of strong teamwork was clear. We had different dishes from fillet and sirloin steaks to fish and chips with sides, finishing with sherry trifle and sorbets. The food was delicious and well presented. Excellent service from Carmine and the Team including Teja. We always feel welcome and look forward to going back soon to the Butlers Wharf Chop House.
