We visited The Ivy in St Albans on Saturday night for the first time together, after my partner recommended it, and it certainly did not disappoint! We shared two starters, and both were absolutely gorgeous. I then had the fish cakes for my main, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We were both feeling full by dessert, but after spotting someone else’s and deciding it looked too tempting, we shared one, and we were so glad we did! The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable when it came to recommending wines. Our waitress mentioned she had only been there a week, but you would never have known from how knowledgeable and attentive she was. The whole experience was fantastic. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. I expected it to be considerably more, so it was definitely great value for money. Even though we were almost the last people there before closing, we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. That really made the evening feel relaxed and special. We had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

I booked a table to watch the Community Shield on Sunday. The staff were helpful and friendly. The service was very good. I used the QR code to order food and drink. It was excellent and easy to use. Food came in fifteen mins which was good as it was busy. Drink came in five mins. I had the Bao Buns. They were so good and filling. My friend had a chicken wrap and sweet pototo fries. They looked really good. I tasted them. The best! Crispy and crunchy.

We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant! We ordered the moussaka and the slow-cooked lamb, followed by the portokalopita for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was very attentive. The staff were welcoming and kind as well. We will definitely be coming back soon!

We had the Lunch Menu which was outstanding The Choices available were so good had trouble deciding which one to have. The food was outstanding and the Service was extremely high. The Cornish sole was extra special and a bargain as part of a £23.00 two-course deal which we twinned with spotted dick and creme anglaise. Very friendly service and happy atmosphere shared with regular customers (we were on a train excursion from London .. well worth the trip for the lunch alone)
