The Punch Bowl is a 17th century newly refurbished restaurant and pub located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and South Essex salt marshes. Chef Patron Rob and Front of House Manager Sally run a Two AA Rosette-rated restaurant, offering a nose-to-tail style menu with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily as the season's best comes in. Our visit to The Bull was really lovely, we had Sunday roast and i must say how wonderful the meal was. I had bread and butter pudding and was the best i have ever had. Service was excellent. 🍷 Very good after dinner coffee was just lovely. Overall fantastic and yes we will return. The pub is very bust but well handled so i would book in advance. Nice garden covered areas and play equipment for the kids .

Such a great place to eat... Very varied menu with a specials board... Yesterday was King Prawn Linguine, which was wonderful. Moderate price for very good food and lovely staff. Cannot fault it in any way.
