A couple notes about the Taverna-We stop taking day of reservations after 4pm. Please call the restaurant after 4pm.We do not accept parties of 4 people or more. We are a small restaurant with only 22 seats and cannot accommodate larger parties. Established in April of 2015, The Taverna serves authentic Greek fare while remaining true to our Greek roots. Our menu highlights what is available to us locally and seasonally. Our wine list is one of the largest all Greek wine lists in the United States which features natural, orange and organic wines. We offer a unique dining experience that can only be found in a few select locations in the country. We welcome you to our little Taverna in Brunswick!

Located in Portland's Old Port District, Fore Street opened in June, 1996. The interior surrounds a unique brick and soapstone hearth with a wood-burning oven, grill and turnspit; visible from most tables. We believe that good food travels the shortest possible distance between the farm and the table. Our menu changes every day and is founded upon the very best raw materials from a community of Maine farmers, fisherman, foragers and cheese makers. Most of the Maine foods are organically grown or harvested wild, each brought to us at the peak of its season. In 2002 and again in 2007, Fore Street was named by Gourmet Magazine as one of the Top Fifty Restaurants in the United States. In 2004, Chef-Partner Sam Hayward was named Best Chef: Northeast by the James Beard Foundation.

Our chefs focus on serving the freshest seafood and the best ingredients available from local purveyors, fishermen and organic farmers. They prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights the ingredients. Our personalized wine list truly complements the cuisine and we offer a classic full bar.     We were so incredibly blessed to celebrate my husband’s birthday at Pomelia this week. From start to finish, the experience was truly exceptional. I had to change our reservation last minute, and they were so gracious and accommodating. It was our first time there, and they treated us like royalty the entire evening. The staff went above and beyond in the most thoughtful ways — they brought out a special appetizer from the chef, our waitress was unbelievably kind and hospitable, and she even hand-signed a birthday card for my husband (shoutout to Marybeth, you are the best.) At the end of dinner, they surprised him with a cannoli and candle to celebrate. We also had our boys with us, and they both received a little Lego packet to help entertain them during dinner, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was INCREDIBLE, but honestly, it’s the service and genuine hospitality that will keep us coming back. You just don’t experience this level of kindness very often anymore. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday feel so special and memorable!

    This is a small restaurant that cooks each person’s order to perfection. It’s not fast food. The wine list matches up perfectly. If you don’t know Greek wines then great pairings can be suggested by the staff. For a leisurely dinner of food cooked from local producers where possible, this is your spot. If you don’t love lamb or seafood, this may not be your spot. The service is great and the food is memorably good

    Had a group of 7 adults at 6:30 on a Saturday. Every table was full. Had attentive service and great food. We would go back again if we are in the area.
