The interior surrounds a unique brick and soapstone hearth with a wood-burning oven, grill and turnspit; visible from most tables. We believe that good food travels the shortest possible distance between the farm and the table. Our menu changes every day and is founded upon the very best raw materials from a community of Maine farmers, fisherman, foragers and cheese makers. Most of the Maine foods are organically grown or harvested wild, each brought to us at the peak of its season. I'm a lover of two things, archaic language and travel. A couple of years ago I stumbled upon a word that really embodied for me both of my loves. Coddiwomple.Coddiwomple: To travel purposely towards an unknown destination.The Irish are known for their willingness to rove and ramble seemed like a natural fit hence Rambler was born. A neighborhood destination filled with hospitality and hearty comforting food & drink. We're so looking forward to our journey together.

    The rhubarb crème brûlée was almost as delicious as I remembered it from last year—isn’t your first time always more memorable made even more so over time? The hangar steak was perfectly cooked with its fiddlehead ferns. The asparagus salad was awesome. Grilled calamari was very good as was the mixed green salad and veal breast three way was very rich but interesting. See you next year. (The morning bun and blueberry scone in The Standard Bakery the next morning were incredible.)

    We had most wonderful dinner celebrating my daughters college graduation. Scales acknowledged the occasion with a card and with a special congratulations cookie when we ordered dessert. The seafood stew is outstanding, flavorful and fresh, filled with a variety of seafood. The grilled sourdough is perfect for sopping up the delicious broth. The steak was perfectly cooked & the scallops were seared to perfection. Scales always has delicious food and a great atmosphere. We look forward to coming back when we are back in Maine.

    We were so incredibly blessed to celebrate my husband’s birthday at Pomelia this week. From start to finish, the experience was truly exceptional. I had to change our reservation last minute, and they were so gracious and accommodating. It was our first time there, and they treated us like royalty the entire evening. The staff went above and beyond in the most thoughtful ways — they brought out a special appetizer from the chef, our waitress was unbelievably kind and hospitable, and she even hand-signed a birthday card for my husband (shoutout to Marybeth, you are the best.) At the end of dinner, they surprised him with a cannoli and candle to celebrate. We also had our boys with us, and they both received a little Lego packet to help entertain them during dinner, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was INCREDIBLE, but honestly, it’s the service and genuine hospitality that will keep us coming back. You just don’t experience this level of kindness very often anymore. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday feel so special and memorable!
