Food and service were beyond excellent and the ambience was fantastic for a nice dinner.

I absolutely LOVE the food and the ambiance at 501! It is my favorite place to go with girlfriends for a celebration or just a long over due catch up! Everyone there is so kind and the vibe is always so happy, bright and chill. I am addicted to the Chicken Tacos, Cobb Salad and Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl! They also seriously have the best fries on the North Shore! And the Chocolate Strawberry Cake- omg! All of the food is so fresh and delicious and the cocktails are too!!

Attentive and courteous service. Food was delicious. They are remodeling, so it was a bit noisy.

Burl is a five-star gem just off Central Street in Evanston. We've had dinner and now brunch there and have enjoyed every bite. Seasonal, wood-fired dishes are their thing, but don't skip dessert - the ice cream is worth a visit alone. We had the Dutch baby, pancakes (just the right amount of campfire char), the strata and standard breakfast plate, and oatmeal. All the flavors were spot on. The potatoes were amazing, along with the bacon. The space is beautiful, with a big open kitchen, but the sound level is LOUD. So happy to have Burl in Evanston!

Outstanding! First time here, and impressed beyond words. EJ's blew the roof off of our usual favorites, Hugo's, Gene & Georgetti, and Gibsons. From the welcoming interaction with the valet, to the pleasant goodbye from the manager, every aspect of our experience was heightened by the professionalism of EJ's staff. And the food! Fresh and simply prepared, with clean, well-balanced flavors. Nothing too little, nothing too much. We enjoyed, the dover sole (meticulously deboned table-side), the petit filet (tender and juicy), a scrumptious clam chowder, a bursting-with-flavor tomato salad, as well as creamed spinach (best we've tasted in the Chicago area), garlic mashed, a baked potato (actually moist), and the steamed broccoli (great texture). We capped off the meal with a perfectly tart slice of Key Lime Pie. Also of note, the non-alcoholic Champagne - bright and fun. I would be remiss did I not mention our wonderful waiter Dino. So impressed by his presence, I had to ask the manager, "Where did you find this guy?" Our service was so personable, knowledgeable, and detailed, we felt as if we were private dining. All around, our best Chicagoland Steakhouse/Supper Club experience yet! ALL THE STARS!
