She communicated well throughout our meal and made the experience even better. The restaurant itself was clean, nicely maintained, and offered plenty of seating options, including standard tables, high‑tops, and outdoor seating. We were a group of five and enjoyed a wide variety of drinks—Filthy Martini, Bourbon Smash, Cucumber Basil Gimlet, and Rocca Delle Chianti—along with appetizers and an impressive selection of main courses: Eggplant Torta, Grilled Octopus, Finocchietta, Aruguletta, Penne Caprese, Linguine Con Vongole, Gnocchi Al Tegamino, and Pollo Al Limone. We also had a round of shots (Hennessy, Frangelico, Sambuca) and finished with delicious desserts—Tiramisu and Crème Brûlée. The food was simply outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully aromatic. I strongly recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely be returning.More infoBacco Italian and Wine Bar$$$$• Italian• Bel Air•4.8
- DdouglasWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined on May 2, 2026I didn't mind driving the hour and forty minutes from Bethesda to "Sassafras". Nothing more calming than passing through Eastern Shore towns like Centerville and Chestertown and past all the beautiful farms. Greeted warmly at the restaurant and treated to 12 outstanding courses, ingredients all sourced locally, each with a story, expertly told by chef Paul Edward. Don't want to give away the menu details, but know that your experience will include favorites from the Chesapeake Bay and surrounds. Preparations were complex and included smoking, pickling, dry-aging, frying, grilling, purpose-built ovens, and everything is cooked in front of only eight lucky diners. Wine pairings are available and the cocktails were creative and yummy. Sassafras is worth a lengthy drive, one I expect to make on the regular.More infoSassafras$$$$• Seafood• Galena•4.9
