Cinco de Mayo, so there was a DJ, that was kind of loud, but the place was packed, and digging the vibe. Love having a restaurant like this so close to home!

When we got the bill the prices for most items were more money than what was listed on the menu. The manager never came to our table. She ignored us & took off the $8 and treated us terrible. Also, they added a tip because we had 6 people. Which wasn’t clear that the restaurant had that policy or the percentage they used. Also, a fee for a credit card, which is ridiculous when you spend $370. Who brings that much cash!!! The food is good but for the value & customer service we will not return.

This was our second time there, we got all completely different items and every single thing was absolutely delicious. There’s hasn’t been one mediocre dish we’ve eaten. Quickly becoming our favorite place in the Valley. Delicious drinks. Beautiful space. Great service. 100000/10. Very hard to pick favorites but I think stand outs are the lamb birria empanada, short rib gnocchi, duck budin and sweet potato flautas.

FAQs

Yes, La Maya is a popular choice for date night. Guests repeatedly praise the intimate, city-style ambiance, creative cocktails, and elevated Mexican plates that are ideal for sharing. Expect moody, upscale decor, cozy two-tops and bar seating for a lively but romantic evening. It can get busy and a bit loud on weekend nights, so consider an early reservation or bar seating for a slightly quieter experience.

Portions tend to be moderate and shareable, La Maya emphasizes elevated, composed plates rather than oversized, bargain-style servings. Many guests enjoy sharing apps (nachos, corn ribs, guac) and say dishes are flavorful and satisfying, though a number of guests have noted some entrees feel smaller for the price. If you’re hungry, plan to order an appetizer to share or ask your server about portion sizes when you order.

Family-friendly: yes, guests bring families, celebrate birthdays, and report multi-generational dinners. Seating is intimate and tables are fairly close, so it’s best for families who don’t need lots of space. Accessibility specifics (ADA-compliant seating, ramps, etc.) aren’t listed in the available info, call ahead to confirm accommodations or request a table that best fits your needs.

If you want a lively, buzzy night out, go on a Friday or Saturday evening when the restaurant is busiest. For a quieter experience, aim for earlier weekday dinners (Mon–Thu) or earlier weekend lunch/brunch seatings. Bar seating is also a good option for a faster, more social experience. Reservations are recommended on busy nights.

Warm, moody and lively, La Maya mixes rustic Mexican decor with an upscale, city-restaurant vibe. Guests describe it as cozy, stylish, energetic and sometimes loud when full. Staff are frequently praised for friendly, attentive service, and the space is often described as intimate and festive, great for date nights and celebrations, less ideal for quiet conversations on peak nights.

Casual dress is the listed dress code, and guests commonly dress smart-casual for evenings. The atmosphere is upscale-casual, comfortable clothes are fine, but many guests opt for a slightly dressy look for date nights and special occasions.

Guests commonly use credit cards and cash; however, several guests reported a credit-card surcharge/fee and an automatic gratuity added for larger parties (example: party of six). Because policies have been mentioned as inconsistent by some guests, confirm payment methods and any card fees when you book or upon arrival.

Yes, guests report the staff and management are accommodating with special requests and celebrations (birthdays, reservation adjustments, custom cocktails). While La Maya doesn’t offer private dining, the team has gone out of their way to help create special moments, call the restaurant in advance to discuss requests like seating, dietary needs, or celebration details.

Yes, families and children are welcomed, and guests report celebrating birthdays and dining with teens or younger family members. The menu is more elevated and doesn’t have a dedicated kids’ menu, and the dining room is relatively intimate and sometimes tight on space, for younger kids consider an earlier seating and call ahead to ask about menu flexibility.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday evenings, holidays and special dates (Valentine’s Day was noted as busy). Quietest: earlier weekday evenings (Mon–Thu) and some weekend lunch/brunch seatings tend to be calmer. If you want to avoid the loudest moments, reserve early or choose a weekday or midday visit.

It depends on your goal: choose Friday or Saturday for the most energetic, buzzy vibe; choose a weekday (Mon–Thu) or an earlier weekend lunch/brunch if you prefer a quieter experience. Reservations are useful any night because the space fills up quickly.

They have operated on busy occasions (guests describe dining there on Valentine’s Day), but official holiday hours aren’t listed. Because holiday hours may vary, call ahead or check the restaurant’s current postings before planning a holiday visit.

Yes, La Maya offers outdoor seating on Main Street. Guests enjoy outdoor tables but frequently mention street noise and occasional traffic/smoke from the road; if you’d prefer a quieter meal, indoor seating is recommended.
