From the OpenTable editors: One of the New York Times's 50 favorite restaurants of 2024, L'Orange charms with its refined, Pacific Northwest-influenced Mediterranean small plates and superbly curated wine in a homey, cozy atmosphere. The combo quickly captivated local critics and diners, who show up in droves for dishes like roasted garlic soup with grapes or poached and grilled cauliflower with curried granola. It all obviously pairs beautifully with owner Jeff Vejr's large, varied selection.

Executive chef: Joel Stocks

Our party of 5 were seated in a separate room from the main restaurant which was perfect for us. Food was great, service was great. All around a fabulous experience.

I was looking forward to another wonderful meal at l’Orange…3rd time…and as this was a special occasion I requested and had our counter seats confirmed. I was surprised when I arrived and there were people in my seats I was told we were in the Blue room, and after some staff discussion, I told them we’d be fine in the Blue Room. The person who seated us said I don’t make the reservations….not a good response…I had my confirmation and I am a returning customer…an apology for the error or a free order of bread would have been a better response. I was more upset than my dining partners, but the loud voices of folks who don’t seem to have an inside voice made it difficult to enjoy our conversation. At the counter it is easier to hear others. I was so excited to get my favorite seats for dinner and after a nearly four week wait, I was disappointed. A first for me…..the food is always outstanding! Make sure to have the Orange cake for dessert!!

Everything from the time we walked into the place until we left was outstanding!! Service was outstanding. Everyone knew everything about every dish. They don't have liquor here so it's been and wine but that was no problem. Food was great!! The mussels were very tender. My only issue was the squash dish was barely warm. I don't know if it was meant to be that way or not. I would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful experience. We ended up being 45 minutes early due to a show getting out sooner than expected, but we were seated right away. The waitress was wonderful, helping us decide which wines to choose and letting us have tastes of whatever was on the menu. The dishes were all very interesting and super tasty. Overall a great dining experience!

Menu options were pretty limited and food was disappointing. I had high expectations because of consistent rave reviews but found overall the proportions to be off. The soup was good but had more garnish than soup, the salad was great with tons of delicious blue cheese, but the mussels were in an overly rich creamy sauce with chickpeas and tomatoes that texture-wise was off putting with tomato skins and chickpea skins. Also, extra large mussels also aren’t my favorite texture-wise. The squash was interesting but mildly unappetizing to eat at room temperature- would have been better hot. The pasta was v disappointing with a green garnish of fried green onion stems that were woody and inedible, had to pick them out of my mouth. also the sauce was so oniony I couldn’t finish the dish. Limited, predictable dessert menu so we skipped it. I know it’s difficult to run a restaurant these days but if you’re putting together a small menu it should be all hits. Pork coppa and sturgeon? Pass
