This was our fourth time to this fabulous hidden gem. The service is amazing, the cocktails are unique and out of this world, and the food is exceptional. Seriously, one of our most favorite places in St. George.

St. George
About the restaurant
A culinary island in Southern Utah, the Painted Pony brings a touch of class--and intriguing flavors--to St. George. The restaurant, tucked away in Ancestor Square, is exceptionally clean and cozy, with contemporary art, fresh flowers, and -- in the evening -- a top notch romantic atmosphere with subdued lighting and patio dining.

If your surroundings don't clue you in, your first glance at the menu will. Painted Pony is not your standard fare. Contemporary American cuisine evidently doesn't mean just another good steakhouse, and the simply written food descriptions promise something new and intriguing for your palate.

The Painted Pony has perfected the fine art of using fresh ingredients and delicate flavoring. An exceptional wine list, generous portions, attentive service, and reasonable prices will convince you to return to "the Pony" anytime you're in St. George.

Our experience at the Cosmopolitan grill was so good. It was a little hard to find using GPS, but a quick call and they helped us out. Our waitress, Mayra, was absolutely wonderful. We were the last table and she still was so kind and spent the time with us to make it a memorable experience. She gave us a lot of great recommendations for dinner. I had the filet medallions and my boyfriend had the king salmon. Both dishes were amazing! I just wanted to say thank you for a memorable experience and caring to make our night out great!

Excellent. I wasn't expecting the food to be this high quality (the town's permanent population is roughly 500 people), and it was perfectly prepared.

About the restaurant
Farm to table dining is our passion at Zion Mountain Ranch. Our on-site restaurant Cordwood takes full advantage of our multiple organic gardens and aquaponic greenhouses to create a healthy and unique dining experience for our guests.

Above all else we are a ranch. Careful management of the land and healthy sustainable food production is at the heart of our operation. What isn’t grown here, our kitchen carefully sources ingredient by ingredient. While it is rewarding in itself to work the earth and enjoy it’s fruits, true satisfaction comes in sharing it with our guests.

Cordwood’s ranch/farmhouse vibe with upscale flair is perfect for the area. The views are amazing. Server was friendly and attentive. Beer and wine options were great. Dishes came out at the right time. Food was well prepared and delicious. We were staying at the Zion Mtn Ranch for two days and the remoteness had us worried with this being our only nearby food option. But it we ended up being very happy eating here.

Wine list is very good, pricey, but a good selection of high quality Italian wines. Food is good, bread service excellent. My only critique would be a little more seasoning/salt, but you can add. Overall, good place to eat and really good ambiance/view.
