We had a wonderful lunch at The Union yesterday to celebrate my Mum's birthday - we decided on the 'Feasting' Menu and what a treat! The food was absolutely delicious, some very unusual and special combinations, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The setting is also very nice, a roaring fire, which gives a beautiful timeless and quiet ambience combined with excellent service made for a very good choice!

Yet another outstanding lunch and first class dining experience at the Poet, this time the chocolate week menu. The foie gras starter was melt in the mouth and sooo tasty, leaving you eagerly awaiting the next course. The main of octopus and scallops was the best octopus dish I have ever had - soo good. The multi taster chocolate dessert plate was beautifully presented and a great way to round off an outstanding lunch. Beautifully presented, sumptuous food and the usual highly impressive, impeccable service from engaging staff, this time led by Poppy. We will be back as soon as we can.

We had a truly lovely evening celebrating my husband’s birthday! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. We were welcomed with freshly made focaccia and a delicious pumpkin soup amuse-bouche to start. For our starters, I had the scallops with honey-glazed pork, while my husband chose the rabbit – both were absolutely delicious. For our mains, we enjoyed the fish pie and the short ribs. The short rib meat was so tender it literally melted in your mouth! We finished with the chocolate three ways, which was simply amazing (although we were so busy enjoying it that we forgot to take a photo!). A special mention to our lovely waitress, who was so attentive throughout, and the beautiful ambience made the whole evening even more special. A fantastic dining experience and the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back! 😊
