We had a wonderful lunch at The Union yesterday to celebrate my Mum's birthday - we decided on the 'Feasting' Menu and what a treat! The food was absolutely delicious, some very unusual and special combinations, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The setting is also very nice, a roaring fire, which gives a beautiful timeless and quiet ambience combined with excellent service made for a very good choice!

An outstanding experience at Lury Hastings! Twelve courses of amazing food with a Sri Lankan twist. Each course was imaginative and presented beautifully. The service was exceptional - each dish explained in detail and served on beautiful pottery locally made. Great wines to compliment the food. We have eaten at many wonderful restaurants over the years and this one has to be the top of my list. Jack Lury deserves a Michelin star.. and I’m sure he will get it soon! Don’t hesitate just book! We had a truly lovely evening celebrating my husband’s birthday! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. We were welcomed with freshly made focaccia and a delicious pumpkin soup amuse-bouche to start. For our starters, I had the scallops with honey-glazed pork, while my husband chose the rabbit – both were absolutely delicious. For our mains, we enjoyed the fish pie and the short ribs. The short rib meat was so tender it literally melted in your mouth! We finished with the chocolate three ways, which was simply amazing (although we were so busy enjoying it that we forgot to take a photo!). A special mention to our lovely waitress, who was so attentive throughout, and the beautiful ambience made the whole evening even more special. A fantastic dining experience and the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back! 😊
