- AarthurGoldPortland / Oregon •40 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoAwesome food Best service I’ve had in the past two months at least and we eat out a lot. So friendly, kind, obliging. My friends agreed and said they would come back as one has in-laws that live in Philly. Food again was so remarkable. Please open a restaurant in Seattle.More infoTria Rittenhouse$$$$• Wine Bar• Rittenhouse Square•4.7

Also, it was my first time trying their seasonal shrub drink—outstanding! Definitely the best restaurant in the neighborhood.More infoBar Lizette$$$$• European• Chestnut Hill•4.7

- SSandraPhiladelphia County •5 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 30, 2026Every dish was sublime, the service was friendly and efficient, the venue is decorative and charming. From the antipasti offerings, we chose the fried calamari, an ample serving that was accompanied by the perfect marinara dip; and the Roman artichokes, elegantly displayed in an otherworldly sauce punctuated by roasted tomatoes. I used the bread to soak up every drop of that sauce. The artichokes were every bit as good as the ones I’ve had in Rome. La Nonna’s owners are Roman, so this dish was a must-try for me. (And I’m still craving it a day later.) The pasta is homemade and our choices were perfectly cooked and paired with outrageously delicious sauces: the gnocchi special with shrimp (giant gnocchi that were SO rich and fluffy) in rosé; linguine with clams (in shells) and crabmeat, swimming in garlicky goodness; and delicate fettuccini Bolognese (was that a hint of cinnamon in the meat sauce?). Our desserts included a classic tiramisù and a dense Belgian chocolate tort. Espresso/coffee doesn’t come in decaf here, in case that’s an issue (it wasn’t for us). I realize that any review is purely subjective — but when two of the diners are excellent cooks with particular standards and also from Italy (my parents), as La Nonna’s owners are, and they give it the thumbs-up … I’ll state with confidence that you can trust this collective opinion. To boot (see what I did there?), the prices are reasonable, it’s BYOB and the vibe is cozy and unpretentious. In a city filled with pricey and pretentious pasta offerings, I highly endorse this gem of an Italian!More infoLa Nonna$$$$• Italian• Queen Village•4.7
