Our favorite Italian spot. Top quality food, reasonably priced. Always a good vibe with excellent service from a good crew that seems to stay the same. Food is always phenomenal, piping hot and tasty and drinks are great. Our fav is the chicken parm (get it with vodka sauce) For first timers just pay attention to the time limits on tables as they turn them fast.

We waited for the craziness of October in Salem to die down and celebrated a birthday on a Thursday night in November. Food was outstanding as was the service--granted it was an unusually quiet night. Settler remains one of our favorite places to dine on the North Shore.

We went for dinner last night at Plat du Jour to experience the fall menu. After being seated in the cozy dining room at a table near the window, we were told the catch of the day was Halibut prepared with a verte sauce containing olive oil, lemon, basil, tomato and fennel. My wife started with delicious french onion soup and I chose the lamb meatballs. The meatballs with the tzatziki sauce added that fresh cucumber pop to the dish. We both chose the catch of the day Halibut. Cooked to perfection, the verte sauce combined with the fish was a flavor burst in every bite that left you wanting more. For desert I had the strawberry shortcake and my wife had the beignets (her favorite). A perfect ending to an extraordinary dinner. There are many great choices that we cant wait to come back to explore the menu further.
