We had a wonderful evening at The Ivy. The food was absolutely delicious, the decor was stunning and the whole atmosphere was beautiful. However, the highlight of the evening was definitely the service. Josh was fantastic, so friendly, attentive and professional. He really made our experience extra special. We will definitely be back.

I had heard very good comments about the Hearing Dogs restauarant and it did not disappoint. I took my granddaughter yesterday. The setting is beautiful. We sat inside at a window seat and enjoyed the autumn colours and watching two volunteers gardening with either their dog or one of the hearing dogs. The food was really delicious - mushrooms on sourdough incredibly tasty. The service was prompt and efficient without being rushed. I will definitely be back as overall it was an excellent experience, especially knowing the support is going to such a worthy charity. Thank you

We visited The Ivy in St Albans on Saturday night for the first time together, after my partner recommended it, and it certainly did not disappoint! We shared two starters, and both were absolutely gorgeous. I then had the fish cakes for my main, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We were both feeling full by dessert, but after spotting someone else’s and deciding it looked too tempting, we shared one, and we were so glad we did! The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable when it came to recommending wines. Our waitress mentioned she had only been there a week, but you would never have known from how knowledgeable and attentive she was. The whole experience was fantastic. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. I expected it to be considerably more, so it was definitely great value for money. Even though we were almost the last people there before closing, we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. That really made the evening feel relaxed and special. We had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

An excellent meal in the main restaurant with a table overlooking the river, with St Michael’s church beautifully reflected in the water. Om looked after us very courteously. Perfect timing between courses and great recommendations for the food (padron peppers followed by Monkfish curry.) We also managed clafoutis and a chocolate delice for pudding. All excellent choices. We would definitely come back again.

The meal was fantastic food was an amazing for appetizers, mains and the tarte. We had a vegetarian with us and the carrot Wellington was a hit. For the meat eaters the pie and the fish and chips were outstanding. What was even better than the food was the service. The staff was amazing in helping select choices of food and wine. The made sure everything was easy offering extra sauce and ice cream and then getting us out to the fire with our wine. Not sure it could have been much better night.

Setting and service were top notch; worth a trip just for those! As an offshoot of the nearby Greyhound, one would expect best-in-class which the restaurant provided. Family loved the fish & chips and shepherd's pie; the burger taste was just slightly off, though. Will return!
